Seahawks Hosting QB Geno Smith For Visit

Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports that the Seahawks are bringing in free agent QB Geno Smith for a visit Thursday and into Friday.

This is the second visit for Smith this week after he met with the Chargers on Wednesday.

The Seahawks are clearly going to be in the market for a backup quarterback after they cut Trevone Boykin after domestic violence allegations emerged a few days ago.

Smith, 27, is a former second-round pick of the Jets back in 2013. He played out the final year of his four-year, $5.019 million contract before signing a one-year contract worth $2 million with the Giants last year.

Smith is once again testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent.

In 2017, Smith appeared in two games for the Giants and completed 21 of 36 pass attempts (58.2 percent) for 212 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.
