Seahawks Hosting RB Fred Jackson For A Visit

Update:

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll told reporters on Tuesday that they are just hosting former Bills RB Fred Jackson for a visit, and have no plans to sign him immediately.

“This is a visit not a signing,” Carroll said.

Carroll also mentioned, per Bob Condotta, that RB Robert Turbin has high ankle sprain, which explains their interest in Jackson.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that former Bills RB Fred Jackson is flying to Seattle to meet with the Seahawks on Tuesday.

  • According to Rapoport, the two sides are expected to get a deal done at some point.

Many assumed a team like the Cowboys could have interest in Jackson, but it looks like the Seahawks are looking for a better compliment to Marshawn Lynch.

It’s worth mentioning that Jackson and Lynch both spent time in Buffalo, and are close to one another.

Jackson, 34, had spent the past eight years in Buffalo before the team released him in a move that cleared around $2.7 million in available cap space for the team.

In 2014, Jackson ran for 525 yards on 141 carries (3.7 YPC) to go along with 66 receptions for 501 yards receiving and three total touchdowns.
