Seahawks & Kam Chancellor Have Yet To Discuss Extension

Seahawks S Kam Chancellor mentioned Tuesday that the team has yet to approach him regarding a contract extension, per Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

Chancellor added that he is “not worrying” about his contract situation right now.

It’s worth mentioning that Seahawks HC Pete Carroll did say that they would “very much like” to finalize a new deal for Chancellor, according to Curtis Crabtree.

Chancellor, 29, is a former fifth-round pick by the Seahawks in the 2010 NFL Draft. He is entering the final year of a five-year, $29.323 million contract that contained $17 million guaranteed and a $5 million signing bonus.

In 2016, Chancellor appeared in 12 games for the Seahawks and recorded 86 total tackles, two interceptions, eight forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

We’ll have more regarding a new deal for Chancellor as the news becomes available.
