Seahawks Lose Rookie OT James Carpenter For The Season

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Seattle Seahawks first-round pick OT James Carpenter will miss the remainder of the 2011 season after tearing his ACL during yesterday’s practice.

It’s bad enough to lose players during games but it’s especially disappointing to lose guys during practices. This comes days after the team lost another rookie lineman, G John Moffitt, for the season after suffered a knee injury.

Aaron Wilson of Scout.com reported that the Seahawks have signed Paul Fanaika to replace Moffitt but the team will most likely look for internal replacements for Carpenter.

Seattle decided to go with a young offensive line this year with the hope that they would be able to step in gain some valuable experience. Unfortunately, just as they were beginning to be effective, their seasons have come to an end.
