Seahawks Place CB Jeremy Lane On Short-Term I.R., Terrell Thomas An Option?

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Seahawks have placed CB Jeremy Lane on injured reserve with the designation to return after he suffered a groin injury last week.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll told reporters in recent days that Lane would miss an extended period time with this injury, so it doesn’t come as a huge surprise to see him end up on short-term injured reserve.

Mike Garafolo mentioned his Monday NFL notes column that Seahawks could consider re-signing veteran CB Terrell Thomas following the injury to Lane.

Thomas, 29, signed on with the Seahawks a few months ago, but was released a few weeks ago. He was once a very promising player in the league, but he has unfortunately suffered three ACL tears over the course of his career.

He missed all of 2011 and 2012 due to ACL tears, but he managed to return last year and play in all 16 games for the Giants. Thomas finished the season with 67 tackles, a sack, an interception and a forced fumble.
