Seahawks Place DT Jordan Hill On I.R. & Promote DB Steven Terrell

The Seattle Seahawks have placed DT Jordan Hill on season-ending injured reserve and signed DB Steven Terrell from their practice squad.

  • Seattle also signed DT Jimmy Staten to their practice squad.

Hills has already been ruled out for the team’s Divisional game against the Panthers, so it’s not all that surprising to see the Seahawks shut him down for the year and some depth elsewhere.

Hill, 23, was taken in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He still has another two years remaining on his four-year, $2.76 million contract that includes base salaries of $585,000 and $675,000 for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

His 2014 season comes to an end with him recording 19 tackles, 5.5 sacks, one interception and three fumble recoveries over the course of 13 games.

Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 50 defensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
