Seahawks Place LB Ronald Powell On Injured Reserve

The Seattle Seahawks officially placed LB Ronald Powell on the injured reserve list after he passed through waivers unclaimed on Friday.

Powell, 26, was taken in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Saints. He was able to make the Saints’ 53-man roster during his rookie season but was unfortunately waived from injured reserve with a settlement at the start of the 2015 season.

Powell finished out the 2015 season on the Buccaneers’ practice squad. It wasn’t until a few weeks into the 2016 season that the Bears added him to their practice squad.

The Seahawks signed him off the Bears’ practice squad back in December of last year but waived him with an injury designation on Thursday.

In 2014, Powell appeared in 14 games for the Saints and recorded two total tackles.
