Seahawks Place RB Chris Carson On Injured Reserve

Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that the Seahawks have officially placed RB Chris Carson on injured reserve after he suffered a fracture to his ankle during Sunday night’s game.

With Carson out for the year with this injury, it should open up more playing time for veteran RB Eddie Lacy. Although the Seahawks had both Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise inactive last night, so they too could be factored into the mix moving forward.

Carson, 23, was taken in the seventh-round of this year’s NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $2.46 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement.

Entering tonight’s game, Carson had rushed for 166 yards on 37 carries (4.5 YPC) to go along with four receptions for 35 yards receiving and one touchdown.
