Seahawks Place TE Anthony McCoy On IR, Add WR Ronald Johnson

According to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times, the Seahawks have placed TE Anthony McCoy on season-ending injured reserve.

  • Condotta adds that Seattle has replaced him on their roster with WR Ronald Johnson.

McCoy, 26, unfortunately suffered a torn left Achilles’ tendon a few days ago, which is extremely unfortunate given that he also torn his right Achilles’ tendon last year. To make things worse, he was entering the final year of contract. Hopefully, he’s able to make a full recovery and secure an opportunity as a free agent.

Johnson, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the 49ers, who failed to make the team out of training camp. He later signed on to the Eagles’ practice squad, but was placed on waivers in April of last year.

At USC, he caught 138 passes for 1,750 yards receiving and scored 20 touchdowns over the course of four seasons.
