Seahawks Place WR Ricardo Lockette On I.R. & Activate WR Paul Richardson

The Seattle Seahawks announced Saturday that they’ve placed WR Ricardo Lockette on season-ending injured reserve and activated WR Paul Richardson from the PUP list.

Lockette, 29, suffered a serious neck injury a few weeks ago and wound up undergoing surgery to stabilize ligament damage in his neck. Previous reports had said that he was out for season, so this should come as a big surprise.

He’s in the final year of his contract and stands to make a base salary of $660,000 for the 2015 season.

This season, Lockette has appeared in eight games and recorded receptions for 69 yards receiving and a touchdown for the Seahawks.

Richardson, 23, was placed on the PUP list at the start of the season to buy him time to come back from an ACL injury he sustained back in January.

He’s in the second year of his four-year, $4,712,836 rookie contract that included $2,381,736 guaranteed. Richardson stands to make base salaries of $634,220 (2015), $848,440 (2016), and $1,062,660 (2017) over the remainder of the contract.
