Seahawks Promote DT Garrison Smith To Active Roster, Cut DT Rodney Coe

The Seattle Seahawks announced Tuesday that they’ve promoted DT Garrison Smith to their active roster and waived DT Rodney Coe.

The Seahawks’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. TE Tyrone Swoope
  2. DB Mike Tyson
  3. QB Trevone Boykin
  4. DB Akeem King (Injured)
  5. LB Paul Dawson
  6. LB Kache Palacio
  7. G Willie Beavers
  8. OT Isaiah Battle
  9. WR Cyril Grayson
  10. FB Jalston Fowler

Coe, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Akron back in May of last year. He lasted just a few months with the Cowboys before he was among their final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

The Buccaneers signed him to their practice squad a few weeks into the regular season and was on and off of their active roster before eventually joining the Jaguars’ practice squad toward the end of the season.

The Seahawks signed him to a future/reserve contract this past January but he was recently waived with an injury designation and later reverted to the injured reserve list. After Seattle waived Coe with an injury designation, they signed him to their practice squad before recently being called up.

During his college career, Coe recorded 83 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four pass defenses, a forced fumble and a recovery.
