Seahawks Rookie QB Trevone Boykin Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor For Resisting Arrest

Update:

Bob Condotta reports that Seahawks rookie QB Trevone Boykin plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest on Friday.

According to Condotta, Boykin will preform 3-6 months of community service and will then have the charge removed from his record.

This will not impact Boykin’s available for the start of training camp.

Trevone Boykin’s agent, Drew Pittman, issued a statement saying that he’s confident the charges will soon be resolved and won’t impact his client’s status for training camp.

“Some of the facts of today’s TMZ report are incorrect,” Pittman wrote, via Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times. “Trevone has already agreed to terms with the authorities on a lesser charge. He has been accountable and remorseful from the beginning. Trevone is looking forward to training camp starting July 30th and to competing for a roster spot.”

TMZ is reporting that Seahawks QB Trevone Boykin has been charged with assault for allegedly striking a police officer after he was thrown out of bar a few days after the Alamo Bowl.

TMZ has obtained video of the incident that occurred in San Antonio on Dec. 31st of last year.

Boykin allegedly struck an officer while they attempted to take him into custody. He was eventually arrested and charged with assaulting a public servant, which is considered a third degree felony.

The good news for Boykin is that he was only charged with one count of misdemeanor assault with bodily injury. If convicted, Boykin could face up to one year in jail.

Boykin’s arraignment is scheduled for August.

Boykin, 22, wound up going undrafted out of TCU a few months ago, but wound up signing on with the Seahawks. He’s currently in line to be the team’s backup quarterback behind starter Russell Wilson.

During his four-year college career, Boykin threw for 10.727 yards while completing 61.2 percent of his passes to go along with 86 touchdowns and 37 interceptions. He also contributed another 2,049 yards rushing and 28 rushing and receiving touchdowns.
