Seahawks RB Chris Carson Suffers Setback, Likely Longshot To Return From IR

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll told reporters on Friday that RB Chris Carson suffered a setback after he turned his ankle, per Bob Condotta. According to Carroll, Carson is likely a longshot to return at any point this season.

Seattle placed Carson on injured reserve after he suffered a fracture to his ankle back in October. However, he was making progress and was in line to return this season.

If Carson’s season is, in fact, over, the Seahawks would have to move forward with Mike Davis, Thomas Rawls J.D. McKissic and Eddie Lacy.

Carson, 23, was taken in the seventh-round of this year’s NFL draft. He signed a four-year, $2.46 million contract and stands to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the agreement.

In 2017, Carson has rushed for 208 yards on 49 carries (4.2 YPC) to go along with seven receptions for 59 yards receiving and one touchdown.
