Seahawks & RB Jamaal Charles Have Mutual Interest

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media is reporting that the Seahawks and free agent RB Jamaal Charles have mutual interest and a visit is expected to be scheduled at some point in the near future.

The Eagles have also come up as a potential landing spot for Charles, but this is really the first reported interest in him since he was cut loose.

It’s worth mentioning that signing him to a contract won’t impact a team’s compensatory picks, considering that he was released.

Charles, 30, was in the final year of his four-year, $28 million contract that included $8.3 million guaranteed and was set to make a base salary of $3.75 million for the 2017 season when the Chiefs cut him in a move that freed up $7 million of available cap space.

In 2016, Charles appeared in three games and rushed for 40 yards on 12 carries (3.3 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 14 yards receiving and a touchdown.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2017 Free Agents list.
