Seahawks Re-Sign DT D’Anthony Smith

The Seattle Seahawks re-signed DT D’Anthony Smith on Thursday, according to the NFL transactions release.

The Seahawks have been taking a look at a number of defensive linemen in recent days, but this appears to be a low-risk addition.

Smith, 26 is a former third-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2010. He was later traded to the Seahawks for a conditional draft pick that never met the required conditions.

Smith briefly played for the Lions in 2013 before re-joining the Seahawks just one month later.

Since entering the league, Smith has appeared in a total of 10 games and recorded 15 total tackles.

However, Smith didn’t play a single snap for the Seahawks last year, so it seems likely that he’ll have to earn his roster spot in training camp and the preseason.
