Williams, 34, had spent eleven seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, and was considered one of the best interior lineman in the league for a large potion of his career.
The Patriots, Giants and Vikings reportedly had varying levels of interest in Williams, but the Seahawks have done a great job of getting contributions from veteran defensive linemen in recent years.
In 2013, he totaled 28 tackles, 3.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus rated Williams as the No. 27 interior defensive linemen in the league.
