Ed Werder of ESPN reports that the Seahawks have reached an agreement with veteran DT Kevin Williams on a one-year contract.

  • Werder adds that Williams’ contract is worth in excess of $2 million.

Williams, 34, had spent eleven seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, and was considered one of the best interior lineman in the league for a large potion of his career.

The PatriotsGiants and Vikings reportedly had varying levels of interest in Williams, but the Seahawks have done a great job of getting contributions from veteran defensive linemen in recent years.

In 2013, he totaled 28 tackles, 3.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery. Pro Football Focus rated Williams as the No. 27 interior defensive linemen in the league.

We had him listed as the No. 3 player in our recently updated Top 50 – Best Available Free Agents list.
