Seahawks & S Kam Chancellor Discussing Extension, Hoping To Get Deal Done

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll told reporters on Sunday that they’ve worked long and hard on a contract for veteran S Kam Chancellor, but they haven’t gotten to the point where a deal is imminent, per Curtis Crabtree.

Carroll added that they’re still hoping to get something done soon, per Bob Condotta.

Chancellor, 29, is a former fifth-round pick by the Seahawks in the 2010 NFL Draft. He is in the final year of a five-year, $29.323 million contract that contained $17 million guaranteed and a $5 million signing bonus.

In 2016, Chancellor appeared in 12 games for the Seahawks and recorded 86 total tackles, two interceptions, eight forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

We’ll have more regarding a new deal for Chancellor as the news becomes available.
