Seahawks S Kam Chancellor “Hopes” To Be Ready For Preseason Following Hip Surgery

 

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Seahawks SS Kam Chancellorhopes” to be ready for the preseason after having offseason surgery on his hip.

  • However, Rapoport adds that “nothing is certain” regarding Chancellor as of now.

Previous reports have mentioned that Chancellor needed surgery on his hip, but he denied that this was the case. Apparently the reports were accurate.

Chancellor, 26, was both a second team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection this past season. He has missed only one game in four seasons.

Seattle signed Chancellor to a four-year, $28 million extension that includes $17 million guaranteed and will keep him under team control through the 2017.

Chancellor has been an integral part of Seattle’s defense this past season finishing the year with 99 tackles, three interceptions, one forced fumble and six pass defenses.

According to Pro Football Focus, Chancellor finished the season ranked as the No. 5 overall safety.
