Seahawks Sign C Drew Nowak To Practice Squad, Cut WR Douglas McNeil

The Seattle Seahawks signed C Drew Nowak to their practice squad on Thursday and waived WR Douglas McNeil, according to the NFL transactions release.

The Seahawks’ practiec squad now consists of:

  1. C Drew Nowak
  2. WR Deshon Foxx
  3. DT Justin Hamilton 
  4. OLB Alex Singleton
  5. RB DuJuan Harris
  6. DB Trovon Reed
  7. RB Brandon Cottom
  8. CB George Farmer 
  9. WR Kasen Williams
  10. T Terry Poole (Injured)
  11. OL Will Pericak

Nowak, 25, originally signed on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan back in 2012. He spent a few years on and of the Jaguars’ active roster before signing a future/reserve contract with Seattle back in February.

The Seahawks wound up entering the season with Nowak as their starting center after trading Max Unger to the Saints in return for Jimmy Graham.

This season, Nowak has appeared in eight games for the Seahawks before being benched after their Week 9 bye. Pro Football Focus has Nowak rated as the No. 22 center out of 37 qualifying players.
