Seahawks Sign DT Ahtyba Rubin To A One-Year Deal

Mary Kay Cabot reports that former Browns DT Ahtyba Rubin is signing a one-year deal with the Seahawks.

• Adam Caplan reports that Rubin’s one-year contract can worth up to $3.1 million and includes a $1 million signing bonus.
• Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported yesterday that the Seahawks were hosting Rubin for a visit.

The Seahawks also re-signed DT D’Anthony Smith on Thursday, so they are clearly placing an emphasis on adding more defensive line depth before the draft.

Rubin, 28, played out his four-year, $26.5 million contract with the Browns that included $18,000,000 guaranteed.

In 2014, Rubin appeared in 13 games and recorded 28 tackles, one sack, and a pass defense for the Browns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the N0. 74 defensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
