The Seattle Seahawks announced Wednesday that they’ve signed San Diego State RB Rashaad Penny to a four-year rookie contract.
This leaves just three draft picks from their 2018 class still to be signed including:
Penny, 22, was taken with the No. 27 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft by the Seahawks. According to OverTheCap.com, he receives a $10,765,436 contract that includes a $5,909,408 signing bonus.
The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Seahawks to pick up in 2021. It’s worth mentioning that the fifth-year option is only guaranteed for injury and won’t prevent the two parties from working on a long-term extension.
During his three-year college career at San Diego State, Penny recorded 488 rushing attempts for 3,656 yards (7.5 YPC) and 38 touchdowns to go along with 42 receptions for 479 yards receiving (11.4 YPC) and six touchdowns.
