Seahawks Sign LS Tyler Ott, Place LS Nolan Frese On I.R.

The Seattle Seahawks announced Tuesday that they’ve signed LS Tyler Ott to a contract and placed LS Nolan Frese on season-ending injured reserve with an ankle injury.

Carroll explained that Frese’s injury likely contributed to a punt snap that went over P Jon Ryan’s head and through the end zone for a safety

“He couldn’t run at all, so he was just clomping around on a totally casted foot to get through the game,” Carroll said on 710 ESPN Seattle. “So the fact that he had a snap that got away from him, a lot of guys would not have finished the game, so I give him credit for really just battling through it and giving us the best he could.”

Ott, 24, originally signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Harvard back in 2014. He lasted just over a year in New England before catching with the Rams for a brief stint and later with the Giants.

The Bengals signed him to their ppracticesquad in November before releasing him a month later.

In 2016, Ott has appeared in three games.
