Seahawks Sign RB Bryce Brown, Waive WR B.J. Daniels

The Seattle Seahawks officially signed RB Bryce Brown to a contract on Tuesday, according to the NFL transactions release.

  • The Seahawks also waived WR B.J. Daniels to make room for Brown.

Brown, 24, was waived by the Bills in September after being traded to the team for a fourth-round pick, so he clearly did not live up to expectations in Buffalo.

Since then, he worked out for the Patriots, Jets, Titans and Colts, but did not receive any contract offer from those teams. Brown has yet to appear in any games this season.

In 2014, Brown played in seven games, accumulating 36 carries for 126 yards, while also having 16 receptions for 176 yards.

Daniels, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the 49ers back in 2013. He lasted less than a year in San Francisco before he was waived and later claimed by the Seahawks.

Daniels was able to make the team’s 53-man roster coming out of the preseason. It would not be surprising to see the Seahawks sign him to their practice squad in the coming days.
