Seahawks Signing WR Doug Baldwin To A Four-Year, $46M Extension

Adam Schefter reports that the Seahawks have reached an agreement with WR Doug Baldwin on a four-year contract extension.

  • Ed Werder reports that Baldwin receives a four-year, $46 million extension with $24.25 million guaranteed.
  • This contract will keep him under team control through the 2020 season.

Baldwin was clearly in line for a significant raise, and Seattle made it clear that they wanted to get an extension in place at some point before the start of the season.

Baldwin surpasses the four-year, $40 million extension recently signed by Jaguars WR Allen Hurns, who received $20 million guaranteed as part of the agreement. The contract leaves Baldwin among the top-10 highest paid receivers in the NFL.

Baldwin, 27, was in the final year of his  three-year, $13 million contract that included $8.5 million guaranteed and set to make a base salary of $4 million for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Baldwin appeared in all 16 games for the Seahawks and recorded 78 receptions for 1,069 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 7 receiver out of 121 qualifying players.
