Seahawks Have “Strong Interest” In Hiring Jim Zorn As QBs Coach

Michael Lombardi of The Ringer hears that the Seahawks have “strong interest” in hiring former Redskins HC Jim Zorn as their quarterbacks coach.

The Seahawks are completely reshaping their coaching staff this offseason and have already made some interesting hires, so this would be a continuation of that trend.

Zorn, 64, played 11 seasons in the NFL as a quarterback for the Cowboys, Seahawks, Packers and Buccaneers. He began his NFL coaching career with Seattle in 1997 as an offensive assistant.

Zorn spent a few years with the Lions as their quarterbacks coach before returning to Seattle in the same capacity in 2001. The Redskins eventually hired him as their head coach in 2008 but he lasted just two years in Washington.

After that, Zorn spent the next three years with the Ravens and Chiefs as their quarterbacks coach.

As the Redskins’ head coach, Zorn led Washington to a record of 12-20 (37.5 percent) and no playoff appearances.

We’ll have more regarding Zorn and the Seahawks as the news is available.
