Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham Out For Season With Torn Patellar Tendon

Update:

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll told reporters after Sunday’s game that TE Jimmy Graham injured his patellar tendon and will require surgery.

This is unfortunately news, as it will cost Graham the remainder of the 2015 season.

Last year, Victor Cruz suffered the same injury, so Graham is looking at a long rehab process of around 6-9 months.

Seattle will likely place him on season-ending injured reserve in the coming days.

Seahawks TE Jimmy Graham was carted off the field during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Steelers with a right knee injury.

It appears to be a very serious injury, as trainers had a support cast placed on his right leg as he was carted off.

Graham, 29, came over in a trade with the Saints that sent C Max Unger and a first-round pick to New Orleans.

He’s in the second year of his four-year, $40 million contract that included $20.9 million guaranteed. Graham will make a base salary of $2.9 million for the 2015 season to go along with $8.9 million (2016), and $7.9 million (2017).

Entering today’s game, Graham has caught 44 passes for 530 yards receiving and two touchdowns over the course of 10 games for the Seahawks.

We’ll have more updates regarding Graham’s injury as the new is available.
