Seahawks Trying Out Veteran DL Desmond Bryant

Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times is hearing that the Seahawks are bringing in veteran DL Desmond Bryant for a tryout at some point in the near future.

This is the first reported interest in Bryant since he recently became available.

Bryant wound up missing the entire 2016 season with a torn pectoral muscle.

Bryant, 31, originally signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Harvard back in 2009. After four years in Oakland, Bryant signed on with the Browns in 2013.

Bryant was in the final year of his five-year, $34 million contract that included $15 million guaranteed when he was released in a move that freed up $3 million of available cap space for the Browns.

In 2015, Bryant appeared in 14 games for the Browns and recorded 33 tackles, six sacks and a forced fumble. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 54 interior defensive lineman out of 123 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
