The Seattle Seahawks officially placed DE Tavaris Barnes on waivers Tuesday with an injury designation.

Should Barnes clear waivers tomorrow, he would revert to the team’s injured reserve list.

Barnes, 24, wound up signing on with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson back in May of last year. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season.

Barnes was in the second year of his three-year, $1.582 million rookie contract when he was waived just days before this year’s draft. The Seahawks signed him to a contract just a few days later.

In 2015, Barnes appeared in 12 games for the Saints and recorded five tackles and no sacks.
