Seahawks Waive K Jason Myers, Sign WR Marvin Bracy & CB Elijah Battle

The Seattle Seahawks announced that they’ve released P Jon Ryan and K Jason Myers and signed CB Elijah Battle and WR Marvin Bracy on Monday.

This, of course, means that Sebastian Janikowski will be the Seahawks kicker in 2018.

Myers, 27, wound up signing on with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent back in 2015 and has managed to make the team the past three seasons. He was in the final year of his three-year, $1.575 million contract and set to make a base salary of $615,000 for the 2017 season when the Jaguars waived last year.

The Seahawks signed Myers to a futures contract this past January.

In 2017, Myers has appeared in six games and converted 11 of 15 field goal attempts (73.3 percent) to go along with 15 of 17 extra point tries (88.2 percent).

Bracy, 24, is an American sprinter who competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics and came in third place in the 100 meters. He played college football at Florida State, but left the team in 2013 to pursue a professional career in track.

The Panthers and Cowboys actually worked him out last summer before he signed a contract with the Colts in August. Unfortunately, Indianapolis waived him coming out of the preseason.

Bracy signed on with the Seahawks last month, but was cut loose a few weeks later.

Bracy has yet to appear in an NFL game.
