Seahawks Waive RB Mike Davis

Ian Rapoport reports that the Seahawks are waiving RB Mike Davis on Saturday as they cut their roster down to 53 players. According to Rapoport, there will be interest in Davis from other teams.

Davis, 24, was taken in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL draft by the. He’s currently in the third year of his four-year, $2.28 million rookie contract and stands to make base salaries of $615,000 and $705,000 over the next two years of the agreement.

The Seahawks claimed him off of waivers from the 49ers back in May.

In 2016, Davis appeared in eight games for the 49ers and rushed for 50 yards on 19 carries (2.6 YPC) to go along with three receptions for 25 yards receiving and one touchdown.
