Seahawks Waive TE Anthony McCoy After Achilles Injury

The Seattle Seahawks have announced that TE Anthony McCoy has been waived on Tuesday.

McCoy, 25, suffered a partially torn Achilles’ last Thursday and underwent surgery to repair the torn tendon. He’s expected to be out for at least six months.

Depending on whether or not he’s claimed, McCoy could end up on the Seahawks injured reserve list. Seattle signed OT Jake Bscherer to take McCoy’s roster spot.

McCoy was drafted in the sixth-round of the 2010 draft. He’s caught 31 passes for 437 yards and three touchdowns in first two years with the Seahawks.
