The Seattle Seahawks officially waived TE Cooper Helfet and LB Christian French from injured reserve on Thursday.
- The Seahawks gave Helfet an injury settlement upon releasing him.
Helfet, 27, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafred free agent out of Duke back in 2012. Since then, he’s been on and off of the team’s active roster.
Seattle re-signed him to a one-year, exclusive rights contract back in April. However, he was waived earlier in the week and later reverted to their injured reserve list after clearing waivers.
In 2015, Helfet appeared in 14 games for the Seahawks and recorded 13 receptions for 130 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
