Seahawks Signing DE Damontre Moore Following Workout

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Seahawks are signing DE Damontre Moore to a contract following his workout for them today.

This comes a few days after the news that Michael Bennett is expected to miss a few weeks with a knee injury, so they could use some depth at defensive end for the time being.

This is the first reported interest in Moore since worked out for the Cowboys back in April.

Moore, 24, is a former third-round pick of the Giants back in 2013. He lasted over two years in New York before he was waived in December of last year.

The Dolphins elected to claim him off of waivers from the Giants. However, he was waived earlier in the year. The Raiders signed Moore to a contract in May before they elected to place him on waivers a few weeks ago.

In 2015, Moore has appeared in 14 games and recorded 27 tackles, four sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery for the Giants and Utah. Pro Football Focus had him rated as the No. 75 edge defender out of 110 qualifying players.
