Seahawks Working To Re-Sign DT Brandon Mebane

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Seahawks are working to re-sign veteran DT Brandon Mebane.

Seattle has already re-signed DT Ahtyba Rubin, so it appears as though there’s a chance their interior defensive line could remain intact for the 2016 season.

Mebane previously mentioned during an interview with 710 ESPN’s “Justin and Gee that he would “love to” return to Seattle and finish out his career with the team.

“I’d love to be back out there in Seattle, finish my career in Seattle,” Mebane said,  via MyNorthWest.com. “I’ve been there nine years, so why not?”

Mebane, 31, was taken in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft and is now in position to be an unrestricted free agent.

In 2015, Mebane appeared in 15 games for the Seahawks and recorded 24 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 70 interior defensive lineman out of 123 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2016 Free Agents list.
