Seahawks WR Jermaine Kearse Not Interested In Offering A Hometown Discount

Seahawks impending free agent WR Jermaine Kearse tells ESPN’s Adam Schefter that will not offer the team a hometown discount to be back in Seattle.

“I love my hometown, but I’ve put in too much hard work to give a discount,” Kearse said. “My number one priority is to take care of my family’s future, so I will consider all opportunities.”

Kearse, 25, originally signed on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Washington back in 2012. He spent his rookie season on and off of the Seahawks’ practice squad before making the 53-man roster the following year.

Since then, Kearse has appeared in all but one game for the Seahawks.

In 2015, Kearse caught 49 passes for 685 yards receiving and five touchdowns, which are all personal records. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 53 receiver out of 119 qualifying players.
