Seattle Showing Interest In Tarvaris Jackson?

ESPN’s John Clayton mentioned that the Seahawks are showing some interest in Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson during an appearance on 710 ESPN Radio. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this idea as NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora tweeted last week that Seattle could be considering signing Jackson once free agency is finally open for business.

I get that they’re looking for quarterbacks as they should be but Jackson should be viewed as a backup quarterback option rather than as a potential starter. Seattle already has Charlie Whitehurst who looks more like a backup than a franchise quarterback so the addition of Jackson would be a surprise considering that he’s not even in the top five best available quarterbacks in a pretty poor free agent class.

Talks between the Seahawks and Matt Hasselbeck didn’t go as well as some believed they would but there’s still a chance that he could return for another season. Hasselbecks stock is on the rise as a number of teams are rumored to have interest. Seattle could still be in on Kevin Kolb but those rumors have been tempered in recent weeks. Things can change quickly so I wouldn’t rule out anything as of right now.
