Sedrick Ellis Doesn’t Report To Bears Camp, Plans To Retire

The Chicago Bears announced that DT Sedrick Ellis did not report to the team’s training camp and has informed them that he intends to retire from the NFL.

Ellis, 28, signed a one-year contract worth $1 million and included $500,000 guaranteed in June. The former seventh-overall pick of the 2008 draft has been a huge bust over the course of his career with the Saints.

He found almost no interest outside of the Bears and most likely wasn’t guaranteed a roster spot. We’ll have to see if the Bears add another defensive lineman in the coming days.
