Six Players Trying Out For The Jets During Minicamp

Seth Walder of New York Daily News reports that the Jets will host six free agents for tryouts this week including: OL Bruce Campbell, OL Ray Dominguez, P Drew Butler, K Andrew Furney, K Carson Wiggs and P Jacob Schum.

Campbell, 26, appeared to have signed with the Redskins at the start of free agency, however an agreement was later voided. Since then, he’s tried out for the Giants, but nothing ever came of their meeting.

Dominguez, 25, was released by the Cowboys back in early March. He hasn’t found any reported interest since then and hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2011.

It’s interesting to see that the Jets are working out multiple kickers and punters this week, which is a pretty clear indication that they want to increase the level of competition for these positions during training camp.

As of now, the Jets have Nick Folk and Ryan Quigley as their kicker and punter.

We have Campbell listed as the No. 32 player in our Top 50 – Best Available Free Agents list.
