Six Teams Reportedly Showing Interest In DT Henry Melton

Rand Getlin of Yahoo Sports reports that the market for free agent DT Henry Melton is “heating up” and he has found interest from six teams.

  • According to Getlin, Melton will likely begin taking trips this week.

The report doesn’t name any specific teams that are interested in Melton, but we’ll have an update as soon as the news is available.

The Cowboys declined to pick up Melton’s three-year option last month, which came as no surprise, as it would have guaranteed him $9 million for the 2015 season.

Last year, he was working his way back from a serious knee injury, which was likely the reason for his limited production in 2014.

Melton, 28, appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys this season and recorded 15 tackles, five sacks and two fumble recoveries. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 15 defensive tackle in the league out of 81 qualifying players.

We have Franklin listed as the No. 46 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
