HBO Offers “Hard Knocks” To The Atlanta Falcons

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that HBO has decided to offer Hard Knocks to the Atlanta Falcons.

Schefter adds that team’s aren’t typically announced until May, but HBO is obviously comfortable committing to the Falcons right now.

There’s been a lot of talk today about which team could end up on HBO’s Hard Knocks this year, so here’s a quick look at some of the proposed team’s.

Atlanta Falcons

Rich Cimini of ESPNNewYork.com reports that the Falcons are “strong contenders” to be the team featured on this year’s Hard Knocks.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Jaguars spokesman Dan Edwards confirmed rumors that the team was interested in being featured on Hard Knocks this season.

“We did express interest, and at this point we don’t know what HBO’s plans are,” Edwards said.

New York Jets

The Jets are reportedly torn on the idea, or at least head coach Rex Ryan doesn’t think that it’s smart considering the issues that they dealt with last season.

Adam Schein of FOXSports.com reports that Ryan and Jets owner Woody Johnson disagree on whether the team should pursue a second season on the show.

Obviously, the addition of Tim Tebow would be plenty marketable in itself and it would draw some attention away from the Super Bowl Champs, who just happen to play in the same city.

Baltimore Ravens & San Francisco 49ers

There has also been some talk that there could be a split show between the Harbaugh brothers. This seems like a longshot but it’s at least a possibility.
