Source: 49ers Sign P Brock Miller To Futures Deal

A source close to the situation tells NFLTR that the San Francisco 49ers have signed P Brock Miller to a future/reserve contract on Thursday.

The 49ers have only signed one other player to a futures deal up to this point, but you can expect to see more moves in the near future.

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.

Miller, 25, wound up going undrafted out of Southern Utah back in 2014. He took part in rookie minicamps with the Colts and Raiders and worked out for a number of teams this past year including the Rams, Buccaneers, Broncos, Packers, Browns, Bears 49ers, Lions and Jaguars.

During his college career at Southern Utah, Miller totaled 7,055 punt yards on 164 attempts (43.02 YPA). He also kicked field goals for Southern Utah during his freshman year and was 12 of 17 and made 27 of 28 extra point tries.
