South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney Visiting Texans On Monday

 

Ian Rapoport reports that the Texans are also hosting South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney on Monday.

• Rapoport previously reported that the Texans were hosting Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel on Monday.

Clowney is a lock to come off the board in the top-five picks and has already met with the Rams, Jaguars, Raiders and Falcons in recent weeks.

Peter King of MMQB.com reported Monday morning that a friend of Texans GM Rick Smith informed him that Smith actually prefers Buffalo LB Khalil Mack to Clowney.

This news is certainly interesting given that the general consensus is that Clowney is the best player in this draft, but it’s also not the first time we heard that someone preferred Mack. NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said a few months ago that he would take Mack over Clowney.

It’s hard to not get excited about seeing either one of these players playing opposite of J.J. Watt in the coming years.
