South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney Will Enter The NFL Draft

South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney said that he will forgo his senior season and entering the 2014 NFL Draft in a post-game interview following their win over Wisconsin.

This is hardly surprising news given that Clowney has been one of the most touted college prospects of the last decade. Clowney took out an insurance policy before the season started in case he suffered a serious injury, so his focus has clearly been on getting the NFL as soon as possible.

There is no question that Clowney will be a top-five pick in next year’s draft, despite some concerns from NFL scouts regarding his mental toughness and maturity.

It will be fascinating to see what the Texans elect to do with No. 1 overall pick. Should they draft a quarterback at the top of the draft, the Rams could shop their No. 2 overall selection to a team looking to move up for either Clowney or another rising quarterback prospect.
