Speculative Options For A Percy Harvin Trade

Dan Wiederer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune expects the Vikings to gauge interest in WR Percy Harvin at this year’s combine.

Wiederer adds that retaining Harvin for next season would most likely require Minnesota to work a long-term contract extension with Harvin. Wiederer cites “durability and personality question marks” as some of the reasons why it might make sense to draft Harvin now for a package of draft picks.

Sam Monson of Pro Football Focus (via ESPN Insider) sees the Falcons, 49ers and Patriots as the best trade fits, should the Vikings indeed trade Harvin at some point in the next few weeks. Monson adds that the Dolphins, Jaguars and Chiefs could also have interest.

Dan Hanzus of NFL.com has a lot of the same teams on his list of potential suitors, but adds that Cleveland Browns could also be a landing spot for Harvin.

It’s worth noting that no one has confirmed that the Vikings intend to trade Harvin. A lot of this has been fueled by speculation, but there are some obvious issues that point to a potential trade coming in the next few months.
