Stanford RB Bryce Love Returning For Senior Season

Stanford RB Bryce Love has made the decision to return for his final year of eligibility.

His father, Chris, texted the news to the San Francisco Chronicle early Tuesday morning: “Bryce will return for his senior year!

While Love was the Heisman Trophy runner-up and has had a very productive college career, some evaluators have expressed some concerns about his size and receiving ability.

“He’ll be good. Not a bell cow but part of a one-two punch where he can be a change-of-pace guy,” an NFC running backs coach previously told Matt Miller.

An AFC general manager added that his concerns related to Love’s size and whether he can be a receiver out of the backfield.

“It’s a real concern for me that he’s small and hasn’t shown he can catch the ball,” the GM tells Miller. “Looks like a Round 3 guy if he runs like we expect him to.”

During his three years at Stanford, Love has rushed for 3,126 yards on 403 carries (7.8 YPC) to go along with 29 receptions for 366 yards receiving and 26 total touchdowns over the course of 39 games.
