Stanford Routt’s List Of Suitors Keeps Growing

Calvin Watkins of ESPN Dallas reports that cornerback Stanford Routt‘s agent, Vann McElroy, has added that the Cowboys, Vikings, and Chiefs have all shown interest in the newly released cornerback.

Last night, reports mentioned that Routt had already setup a meeting with the Buffalo Bills and he could be visiting with the Titans shortly after that.

It’s worth noting that Cowboys DC Rob Ryan actually coached Routt while in Oakland.

As for the Chiefs, their interest in Routt probably has more to do with their concerns about possibly losing Brandon Carr during free agency. It’s assumed that they’ll use their franchise tag on Dwayne Bowe and were hoping to lockup Carr before free agency but this could be a sign that keeping Carr will be harder than they thought initially.

The Vikings simply need help at the position desperately so they’re likely to show interest in a number of cornerbacks in the coming weeks.
