Steelers Activate OLB Ola Adeniyi, Waive LB Matthew Thomas

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Saturday that they’ve activated rookie OLB Ola Adeniyi from injured reserve and waived rookie LB Matthew Thomas.

Adeniyi, 21, wound up signing on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of Toledo back in May. He agreed to a three-year, $1.71 million contract with the Steelers, but was placed on injured reserve coming out of the preseason.

During his college career at Toledo, Adeniyi recorded 118 tackles, 12.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two recoveries and two pass defenses over the course of three seasons and 29 games.
