Steelers In On CBs Dre Kirkpatrick & Logan Ryan

Jeff Howe reports that there is some “solid interest” between the Steelers and free agent CB Logan Ryan.

Logan, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2013. He has played out his four-year, $2,773,252 contract with the Patriots and is now in a position to test the open market as an undrafted free agent for the first time in his career.

In 2016, Ryan appeared in all 16 games and recorded 92 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, a forced fumble and 11 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 16 cornerback out of 112 qualifying players.

Jason Cole of B/R is reporting that the Steelers have been in on several cornerbacks in recent days including Dre Kirkpatrick and Logan Ryan.

Kirkpatrick, 27, is a former first-round pick of the Bengals back in 2012. He played out his four-year, $8.622 million rookie contract, but Cincinnati picked up his fifth-year option that paid him $7.507 million for the 2016 season.

Kirkpatrick is now in a position to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

In 2016, Kirkpatrick appeared in 15 games for the Bengals and recorded 46 tackles, three interceptions and 10 pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. receiver out of qualifying players.
