Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Steelers have claimed WR Devin Gardner off of waivers from the Patriots.
New England officially placed Gardner on waivers Monday.
Adam Caplan noted that Gardner had $10,000 of his $435,000 base salary fully guaranteed by the Patriots before they waived him on Monday.
Gardner played quarterback at Michigan and threw for 6,336 yards while completing 60.4 percent of his passes to go along with 44 touchdowns to go along with 32 interceptions.
It will be interesting to see if Gardner is able to make it as a receiver during training camp in Pittsburgh.
